Down’s syndrome is a lifelong condition, which is caused by a genetic abnormality. People are born with this condition and it can affect their lives in different ways. Many of them share physical characteristics. They also have some level of learning disability, although this could range from mild to severe. Whilst children with Down's syndrome may not have a ‘typical’ life, they can certainly lead fulfilling lives with the right support.

In this course, you will learn:
- The main characteristics of the syndrome, and its causes.
- The associated conditions.
- How to talk about Down’s syndrome.
- How you can support a child with Down’s syndrome.
- How schools and the local authority can help, as well as, medical professionals.
- The challenges they may face, and how you can help with these.
