Caring for a child with physical impairments (PHYSDescc)

Description
[This course will take you 3hr to complete.]

As a carer for a foster child with a physical impairment, you have a key role in helping them access the appropriate support so that they can reach their full potential in life. In addition to helping the child overcome past adverse experiences, as you would do with any other foster child, you will also need to help them face challenges that relate to or result from their physical impairments.

In this course, you will learn about:
- different types of impairment/disability
- the potential challenges of everyday life
- how to deal with issues such as discrimination and bullying
- the rights of disabled people, and the help and support they may be entitled to
- how you can support and encourage them

NB: If you would like to learn more about learning disabilities, please see our course Caring for a child with Learning Disabilities.
